April 2019 - Gushu Sheng (Raw) Puer from Baiyingshan, Yunnan
A gentle liquor that surprises those familiar with the Assamica varietal Sheng puers. In contrast to bittersweet characteristics, the Taliensis - Benshan varietal delights with elegant sweetness.
This batch of Benshan varietal was produced from a group of old trees that were cut down about 10-15 years ago when puer was not as valuable as it is today. The roots remain intact and stunted branches have since regrown.
The resulting tea is smooth and gentle. The broth coats the mouth with a unique sweetness, eliciting salivation. With each infusion, floral and fruity notes linger in the mouth and throat.
Notes of Sweet Grapes, Cucumber, & Sugar Cane.
