Almond Dancong
Peach Kernel Dancong
Gold Peony Yancha
Wulongs are partially oxidized during processing and offer the widest spectrum of flavor and aroma in tea ranging from fruit, flower, honey, spice, wood, and more!
Dancong and Yancha (aka cliff tea or rock tea) are Roasted Wulongs from Phoenix Mountain in Guangdong and Wuyi Mountain in Fujian respectively.
A quality benchmark for Dancong and Yancha is the presence of clear floral aroma in the empty cup and lingering sweetness in the aftertaste. The most desirable Dancongs are from higher elevation peaks in the Phoenix mountain range. A quick tell on whether your Dancong was harvested from high elevation is by rubbing a spent leaf between your thumb and index finger. If it breaks down easily into a clay like substance, it's an indication that the leaves were harvested during spring and grown at high elevation where cooler temperatures alongside cloud and fog cover produce a more tender leaf.
